Get to know your phone Set up your phone The first time you turn on your phone, youâ€™ll be guided to transfer contacts to your new HTC phone using Bluetooth, set up your email and social network accounts, and more. Be sure to sign in to your Googleâ„¢ Account so you can use Google apps such as Android Marketâ„¢ on your phone. Your Home screen Personalize your phone just the way you want it. Thereâ€™s up to seven Home screen panels you can customize with widgets that show live updates of weather forecasts, social network feeds, and more. You can also keep things organized on your Home screen by grouping apps or shortcuts into separate folders. Organizing your Home screen with folders 1. Press and hold on an empty space on the Home screen and then tap Folder > New Folder. 2. Tap . In the apps list, press and hold an app and then drag it to your folder. If you have shortcuts created on your Home screen, you can also drag a shortcut to your folder. 3. Tap your folder to access the apps or shortcuts inside it. And hereâ€™s another tip. When your folder is open, press and hold its title bar to change the folder name. Before you turn on your phone Make sure you prepare your phone correctly before you press the POWER button. Removing the thin film from the battery 1. With your thumbs, push the bottom cover out to remove it. 2. Open the battery compartment door by flipping it open from the right side. 3. Take the battery out and remove the thin film thatâ€™s wrapped around it. 4. Reinsert the battery into the battery compartment. Whereâ€™s the microSD card? The microSD card is already inserted into your phone. If you need to remove the microSD card, push it in to eject it. To reinsert, push it in until it clicks into place. Inserting your SIM card 1. With the battery compartment open, insert your SIM card into the slot (with its gold contacts facing down and cut-off corner facing out), and push it all the way in. 2. Close the battery compartment door. Then, gently push it down until it clicks and locks into place. Replacing the bottom cover 1. Align the two teeth underneath the bottom cover (one on each side) with the two notches on the bottom of the phone. 2. Place the bottom cover on the phone, gently press down on the cover with your thumbs, and then push it in until it clicks and locks into place. Charging the battery Use the supplied power adapter and USB cable to charge your phone. Keep your life in order by keeping track of your schedules, contacts, and email messages. Keeping track of your events in Calendar If youâ€™re signed in to your Google Account, Facebook, and Exchange ActiveSync accounts, you can use the Calendar app (or the Calendar widget) to view your events from those accounts. You can also easily add a new event to any of your calendars. 1. From the Home screen, tap > Calendar. 2. Tap . Or, press MENU and tap Add event. 3. Choose a calendar to which you want to add the event. 4. Fill in the details of the event, and then tap Save. Keep your life organized Adding all your contacts in People In the People app, youâ€™ll see your contacts from your Google Account, FacebookÂ®, and even your Exchange ActiveSyncÂ® account if youâ€™re signed in to these accounts on your phone. Aside from their contact details, youâ€™ll also see their status updates and birthday reminders if theyâ€™re your Facebook or Twitterâ„¢ friends. If you have more contacts in your SIM card, you can import them all to your phone in one go: 1. From the Home screen, tap > People. 2. On the All tab, press MENU. Then tap Import/Export > Import from SIM card. If you have a Google and/or Exchange ActiveSync account on your phone, choose the account where to put your contacts. 3.
